Oasis Café Music Night, KACF and the Forte NY Chamber Music present “Piano Trio of Forte New York” featuring Vicky HyunJin Lee (violin), Yu Mi Bae (cello) and Hyojin Rhim (piano). The concert is on Sunday, April. 22, 2018, 5:30 p.m. at the ECC Main Chapel of KCB, 32 Harvard Street in Brookline. The program will include exciting pieces from the classical and the modern era such as the “Ghost” trio by Beethoven (op. 70 No. 1), Cafe Music by Schoenfield, solo pieces by Brahms and Walton.

Join Keun Young Sun, piano, and Yumi Bae, cello, for a concert that will include Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano and Cello, Op.5, No.1, Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro, Op.70 and Rachmaninov’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op.19.

It is Spring and the month of Family and Mothers! Boston based musicians Yumi Bae, Hwakyung Jang (cellos), Clera Ryu, GaYoung Bae (pianos) and Yeongeun Kim (soprano) are preparing a program of Dvorak’s famous piece “Songs my mother taught me” arranged for cello, Debussy’s cello sonata and the waltz from Shostakovich’s Five Pieces for Two Cellos. It will also feature two cellos collaborating with Berklee jazz pianist GaYoung Bae on a famous folk melody from Korea, and more including several vocal pieces.

An Evening of classical and new compositions featuring cello, and gayageum in the majestic church in Newton Center. The program, dircted by Yu Mi Bae, includes music by Golijov (cello solo, Yu Mi Bae), Rachmaninov (from cello sonata with Clera Ryu on piano), and original pieces featuring gayageum (Do Yeon Kim), cello and piano (Chase Morrin); Special collaboration by Yu Mi Bae, Chase Morrin & Wonmi Jung (NEC, vocal) on the perennial favorite "My Funny Valentine".

NEMPAC is returning to the beautiful Bijou de la Vida Art Gallery for our March Concert Series Event, featuring a wine and appetizer reception, the chance to explore and enjoy a private North End Art Gallery, and the opportunity to meet the artists after the performance. The Bijou de la Vida Gallery, located in the heart of the North End, is an intimate and inspiring setting to enjoy this exciting classical program. The performance, consisting of chamber music, will focus on temporal and spatial elements of French and Minimalist music, and the ability to heal through music. We will be exploring Mysticism and the Spiritual in music, including the fresh and intricate Three Pieces for cello and piano by Nadia Boulanger, the lyrical Lied for cello by Vincent d’Indy, Jolivet’s powerful Chant de Linos, and Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Violin and Piano. This French program will be peppered with minimalist works such as John Adams’ ‘China Gates’ for solo piano, which will create an evening of contemplation on time and space in music. The concert will feature Egle Jarkova, violin; Orlando Cela, flute; Yumi Bae, cello and Artistic Director Christina Wright-Ivanova, piano. $35 General admission

Broadway-to-Bosotn Theater company (B2B) and the Korean Cultural Foundation are presenting the musical “Broadway In Seoul” featuring Ryan Hill, Hilary Mayer, Heather Lee, Shannon Ignatius. It will also feature tenor Jyoungwoun Choi, Gayageum-singer Sukkyeong Won, Yu Mi Bae(vc), Helen Cho(v) and Yurang Han(p). It will be at the ECC chapel, Nov 14, Saturday 7 pm. It will be the sixth edition of the "Korean Cultural Festival" hosted by the church and co-sponsored by the Korean American Cultural Foundation to help foster cross-cultural understanding. The event will feature performances of Korean traditional culture including art, music, dance, and traditional food. Collaborative performances of new music between Korean and other international musicians will be debuted as well. This year's festival will be held as part of the church's 60th anniversary celebration. As the oldest Korean church in New England and one of the oldest Korean Churches in the country, the KCB has strives to play an important role in the cultural and educational environment of the Boston community.
